CAPP Launches Oil Sands Website to Ask Canadians for Their Views - July 9, 2008

The Canadian Association of Petroleum Producers has launched a website called “Canada’s oil sands - a different conversation” to create dialogue about the oil sands industry.  Syncrude Chairman, Marcel Coutu, is quoted on the site: “If you ask people for their views, you better be prepared to listen. I expect some tough criticisms of our industry, but we need to hear them directly from the public. If a criticism is unfair, we need to explain why. If it is fair, we need to act.”  Users can register to participate on the site’s forum, including discussions of issues of the day.
