Thriving Locally

Osum values our neighbours. Entrepreneurs, homemakers and hard working individuals who have raised their families, built their businesses and forged vibrant communities surrounding our projects. We know that they understand the unique working conditions of the area and the energy of their community better than anyone else.

We want the best team possible for a project and that requires local expertise. We’re looking to work with the best contractors and employees – Aboriginal and local people who continually find ways to improve their performance, who challenge us to improve ours, and who will work with us to ensure that we are a positive example of what an oil sands developer should be.

By hiring and contracting as much local talent as possible, our goal is not only to enhance the value of our projects, but to build capacity in a way that benefits entrepreneurs, youth and the rest of the community for years to come.

Some of our projects are expected to be in operation for decades. These long term commitments mean we need to be a partner, a neighbour and a good listener for the long haul. That is how we thrive locally.
