Taiga Project Takes a Step Forward

OILSANDS – The proposed 35,000-barrel-per-day Taiga oilsands project near Cold Lake took another step forward after Alberta regulators gave Osum Oil Sands Corp. the green light to conduct an environmental impact assessment.

Alberta Environment laid out a list of information required for the report, which is the last step needed before filing a formal application with the Energy Resources Conservation Board. Construction would start during the last quarter of 2011, pending regulatory approval, with commercial startup expected by mid-2013.
