We have an exciting opportunity for a Project Engineer to join our team and support the safe execution of projects as part of a multi-disciplined project team.  Reporting to the Project Manager, the successful candidate will work in a fast paced and collaborative team environment to:

  • Ensure that Osum’s HSE Management System is adhered to, including OH&S, ABSA, and AER Regulatory requirements
  • Coordinate required Project Activities with Osum internal teams
  • Interface with Engineering and Construction Contractors and Suppliers to build strong business relationships and deliver on project objectives
  • Ensure that adequate Quality Assurance is performed on all project deliverables to avoid delays or rework during project execution
  • Assist in the development and implementation of project contracting strategies and execution plans
  • Provide progress reporting to ensure proactive management of the Project KPIs, including:
    • Cost performance and forecasting
    • Schedule performance and forecasting
    • Risk management and mitigation
    • Quality Assurance


We are looking for someone with a P. Eng. Designation and 5 – 10 years of relevant experience.  You will be eager to add value to the team and apply your existing knowledge and to build on your thermal portfolio.  Experience with SAGD facilities is a definite asset.

Additionally, you will have:

  • Proven ability to work independently and possess excellent interpersonal and team skills and thrive in a collaborative environment
  • Strong work ethic, self-motivated, strong time management, problem solving and analytical skills, and excellent communication, organizational and team leadership skills.
  • High energy, action oriented approach to project execution.
  • Excellent computer skills, adept in MS Excel, Word, Project, and PowerPoint.
  • Experience in executing projects within an operating facility (brownfield projects)
  • The position is based in Calgary but travel to our field operations including occasional overnight stays is expected.
  • Field experience would be considered an asset.
